Branford Cares Connects

• Connecting People To Information and Services … quickly and simply, all in one place. That’s the concept that brings representatives of Branford’s social services and helping agencies together the second Wednesday of each month. Experts are available to provide information about their specific services, or make an office appointment, or assist with navigation to other resources. Just drop in between 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.

  There is a wealth of resources and information, on every topic that impacts peoples’ lives. Knowing where to start, getting to the right expert, can be a real challenge. Take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and information that comes together under one roof. Branford Cares Connects will have representatives to assist with 211, medical/healthcare, housing, transportation, early childhood development, elder care, behavioral health, education, job training, work, food, clothing and utilities, and more. Participants currently include: Branford Counseling Center & Social Services, Branford Early Childhood Collaborative, Branford Families, Branford Food Pantry/Feed Branford Kids, BHCare, BHCare Clothing Bank, Branford Family Resource Center, Canoe Brook Senior Center, Community Dining Room, East Shore District Health, ERACE, James Blackstone Memorial Library, Shoreline Elder Care Alliance, Trinity’s Closet, VNA Community Healthcare, Women & Family Center, and more. Others may join, come see for yourself.

  Each month will bring a special focus, timed to seasonal programs and signup deadlines. Check this space for the topic of the monthly flyer. Coming in September – a representative of 211 will be on hand covering everything from basic needs assistance to how to maintain independent living at home; October will be all about Utilities assistance options, and reducing your Energy expense; and November is Help with Healthcare Insurance.
